Smart minds for the future: Promoting knowledge. Shaping the future.
The BayWa Foundation has been involved in the Germany Scholarship since it started in 2011. Around 100 students of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, the University of Hohenheim and the Nuertingen-Geislingen University are now receiving support under the scheme every year. The scholarships worth €300 per month are co-funded equally by the BayWa Foundation and the German federal government.
“These scholarships allow particularly talented students to concentrate fully on their studies and achieve excellence”, says Prof. Klaus Josef Lutz, CEO of BayWa, also a lecturer at the Technical University of Munich, about the BayWa Foundation's commitment. “With this initiative, our foundation together with the federal government is supporting the top managers of tomorrow”. By doing so, we are investing in one of Germany's most important resources for the future, namely highly qualified and competitive experts and managers.
The recipients of the scholarship are selected by the university or institute. “Besides above-average achievements, social criteria also count such as voluntary work, caring for relatives or overcoming particular obstacles in their lives”, adds Maria Thon, Managing Director of the BayWa Foundation with responsibility for the project.
