Support for the Tillmann's children and youth home
The Tillmann's children and youth home is operated under the sponsorship of the Protestant Orphanage Association and has been providing assistance to children, young people and families since 1994.
The BayWa Foundation supports the Tillmann's children and youth home with projects aimed at promoting social skills and education. With different activities such as therapeutic horseback riding, ski lessons, language courses and tutoring, the children are supported in their personal development, helping them to improve their ability to communicate and increase their frustration tolerance. Sports events and, especially during the Christmas season, joint baking and craft days allow the children and young people to develop an understanding of culture and community.
As part of the “Planting vegetables. Harvesting health.” project run by the BayWa Foundation, the Tillmann's children and youth home also received a vegetable garden. Here, the children and young people can plant and harvest crops together and prepare their own products to make delicious and healthy dishes.
Supported activities at the Tillmann child and youth house:
During a rafting tour in summer the children learn that a boattrip can only be successful by working together. They learn collaborative skills and experience community within the nature at the river Isar.
During a trip to the beekeeper the children learn how organised a beehive is: Every single bee has its task to fullfill. This is how honey is produced - which the children are allowed to taste.
The Tillmann child and youth house received an own vegetable garden so that the children and young people have the possibility to experience how vegetables grow, how it has to be taken care of and how to prepare a healthy meal out of it.
If the Tillmann children need support in school, they receive private tuition promoted by the BayWa Foundation.
Firmly remain on board: That is what the children learn in the ski and snowboard courses in winter. Balance, endurance and patience are needed - with success!
Every year before christmas St. Nikolaus is visiting the Tillmann child and youth house with his two angels.
