Keeping Together: BayWa Foundation in Action during Corona
Corona hits us all hard. But especially in times of crisis one thing is important: cohesion. This is what the BayWa Foundation took to heart right at the beginning of the lockdown in Germany. To stay healthy and fit, a balanced diet, among other things, is helpful. In doing so, the BayWa Foundation supported those who work for their fellow human beings on a daily basis and those who need special support, especially during the Corona crisis:
Support Families: Healthy Lunch for Families with Chronically life-threatening Ill Children
Families of severely or chronically life-threatening ill children are particularly affected by the pandemic. The usually costly and time-consuming care of the children leads to a considerable burden for all family members. At present, children belong to the high-risk group, with the consequence that the already tense situation of the families is getting worse. The BayWa Foundation now provides relief once a week with a freshly cooked and healthy lunch. In addition, the children receive the text- and action book "The Nutrition Compass", which is already being used for teaching nutritional knowledge at every second primary school in Bavaria. The aid will start on 28 May 2020, initially for one year with thirty families in and around Munich.
We Say Thank You: Free Food for Crisis Heroes
Solidarity and appreciation during the Corona period: From 26 March to 3 May, the BayWa Foundation offered free catering for Munich's emergency services. At the "Drive-in" of the BayWa Foundation in Arabellastraße 4, from Monday to Sunday, 7 am to 7 pm, hot and cold meals were served, freshly prepared by the BayWa Caterer Genusszeit.
In this way, the BayWa Foundation would like to thank the helpers for their invaluable commitment during the crisis. The offer was addressed to paramedics, emergency doctors and all emergency services.
Voluntary Commitment: Food for Senior Citizens and Homeless Facilities
Numerous BayWa employees are involved in voluntary work: They distribute food to needy senior citizens and homeless facilities. In this way, even those people who currently find it difficult to provide for themselves receive healthy and fresh food. Thank you for your great commitment and solidarity!
