Agriculture at Obergrashof
Get to Know the Value of Agriculture at Obergrashof
The work of the BayWa Foundation only really began with the Obergrashof project: In 2002, together with the Dachauer Moos e.V. association, the Foundation built an environmental house from natural building materials.
Since then a lot has happened: The house is used for seminars and lectures and in the adjacent training garden with bread oven and juice squeezer the association Dachauer Moos e.V. offers environmental educational project days to school classes, children and youth groups. The children learn: This is where my food comes from!
Excursions for school classes to the Obergrashof:
On excursions to the Obergrashof, children and young people learn about the value of healthy nutrition through agriculture and actively experience it: baking bread, sowing grain, pressing apples into juice, planting potatoes or harvesting honey from the farm's own bees – the children can experience the whole process of a farm at the Obergrashof. The vegetables harvested by the children are prepared together in the environmental house – they taste especially good after the work is done.
The nature educators always offer a varied program for all ages and on various topics. The focus is on direct contact with biologically dynamic agriculture. They show on a small scale how agriculture can function on a large scale.
