Tillmann's Children House
The Tillmann Children's and Youth House has been offering a place of refuge to children from insecure family backgrounds since 1994.
The BayWa Foundation supports the Tillmann Children's and Youth House with projects to promote social competence and education. With various activities such as curative horseback riding, ski courses, language courses and tutoring, the children are supported in their personal development and their ability to communicate and their tolerance of frustration are strengthened. Sports events and – especially at Christmas time – joint baking and handicraft days bring culture and community closer to the children and young people.
As part of the project "Planting vegetables. Harvesting Health", the Tillmann Children's and Youth Hoouse also received a vegetable garden. There, the children and young people can plant and harvest vegetables together and process their own produce into delicious and healthy dishes.
Education and Support at the Tillmann Children and Youth House:
Off into the Cool Water: Rafting
On the summer rafting trip, the children experience that such a wild boat trip only works if everyone sticks together. They learn teamwork skills and experience community and nature on the Isar.
Busy Little Bees: Beekeeper
During the excursion to the beekeeper, the children learn how organised things are in a beehive: each individual bee has its task and fulfils its duty. This is how their honey is made – which the children are also allowed to taste.
An Own Vegetable Garden
The Tillmann children's house was given its own vegetable garden so that the children and young people can experience how vegetables grow and how they need to be cared for so that in the end, healthy meals can be cooked.
Ski and Snowboard Course
Stand firmly on boards: That's what kids learn at ski and snowboard lessons in winter. Balance, endurance and patience are required here – with a sense of achievement!
Tradition and Customs
Every year St. Nicholas and his two angels visit the Tillmann children's and youth house and give presents to the children.
Be Creative: Painting and Handicraft Activities
Together, the children of the Tillmann Children's House created and painted the nutritional heroes from the Nutrition Compass and learned about the nutrients.
Learning with the Nutrition Compass
The Nutritional Compass of the BayWa Foundation is regularly used at the Tillmann Children and Youth House and explains healthy nutrition to the children in a playful way.
Vegetable sticks, colourful sandwiches, a healthy breakfast – the BayWa Foundation supports the Tillmann Children's and Youth Centre in various cooking activities in order to convey healthy nutrition.
